Packers’ Clinton-Dix Sends Strong Message to Police W/ A Subtle Uniform Change… Look

Kirsters Baish| We have some really refreshing news after the way professional athletes have been acting towards the police and America itself. By now it almost seems like the norm for professional athletes to hate the police and sit down during our country’s National Anthem, but this story is very different. The Green Bay Packers have a player on their team that truly deserves some recognition for his positive attitude and respect for our men and women in blue. Could it be that the trend of disrespectful athletes in the NFL is finally over? Probably not, however, one athlete has made it clear that he will stand up for those who put their lives on the line to protect Americans.

Green Bay Packers safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix decided to post a very different kind of image on his Twitter account this past Saturday. The photo displayed a message to the police officers of America. Clinton-Dix showed off his cleats that had a very important message on them.

Clinton-Dix has been writing the names of fallen police officers on his cleats to honor them for all to see. This simple message is extremely powerful after having had to deal with big-headed players like Colin Kaepernick in recent news. Clinton-Dix has just penned the names of two officers who were gunned down in Kissimmee, Florida, police Sargent Richard “Sam” Howard and Officer Matthew Baxter.

This is so needed in a time where it feels like pro-athletes only care about their own money and success and making political statements about how much they despise our country. Clinton-Dix isn’t the type of player who sits down for the National Anthem either. He is always seen standing and saluting our great nation. He doesn’t engage in racial politics either. He simply stands up for what is right, like honoring those who put their lives on the line to protect us.

The Wild Card wrote:

It’s a breath of fresh air in an NFL where players like Michael Bennett, Marshawn Lynch, and Colin Kaepernick think that the best time to make a political statement is during the recital of the national anthem.

And make no mistake, Clinton-Dix is definitely an advocate for social change. A cursory glance at his Twitter account shows several posts pushing for criminal justice reform and defending the rights of players like Lynch and Bennett to speak their minds in a free country.

But he also takes time to honor and respect the brave men and women who protect and serve this country.

No matter how you feel about Clinton-Dix’s politics, I think we can all agree that it’s a wonderful thing to see a successful athlete making an effort to honor those who do so much for our great nation. He’s working towards change that he believes in, and we couldn’t be more proud to have a player like him in the NFL.
